Miniature carrying case

Magnetic Miniature Carrying Cases by A-Case – Lightweight, Sturdy, and Built for Miniature Armies

If you’re searching for a miniature carrying case that protects your models, keeps everything organized, and makes transporting miniatures effortless, you’ve come to the right place. A-Case offers top-tier storage cases for miniature armies, painters, and gamers who demand performance, protection, and style.

A-Case builds magnetic miniature carrying cases around a simple idea: your models should stand upright on a steel shelf and be held by a magnet, not squeezed into a foam cut-out. There is no foam anywhere in an A-Case – nothing to trim, nothing that grips a spear or a banner and snaps it when you pull the model out, and nothing that forces you to re-cut the tray every time your army list changes.

Every case in this category is built the same way: a powder-coated aluminium framepowder-coated steel shelves that any magnet will stick to, lock-in pins that set the shelf spacing, and a high-quality polyester outer bag with a Velcro panel for your patches. You magnetise your models once, and from then on packing an army takes as long as it takes to place the models on the shelves.

How the A-Case system works

  • Steel shelves. Each shelf is powder-coated steel, so a neodymium magnet glued to the underside of a base holds the model in place – upright, spaced however you want, with nothing touching anything else.
  • Lock-in pins set the height. Shelves rest on pins, so you decide the clearance between levels. Tall centrepieces on one level, infantry on the next.
  • Aluminium frame. The frame carries the load and keeps the case rigid; the fabric bag only has to be a bag.
  • Magnets included. Every case ships with 50 neodymium magnets, 5 × 2 mm. If you are magnetising a whole army, you can add 100, 150, 200 or 250 magnets when you order.
  • Expandable. Cases come with 3 shelves as standard; you can add +3 shelves at checkout, or buy extra trays later.

Which A-Case should you choose?

A-Case Victory 2.0 – the compact one

The smallest case in the range and the natural choice for skirmish games, a warband, a demo box or a club night where you are taking a fraction of your collection. Small enough to carry with one hand, still built on the same aluminium frame and steel shelves as the big cases.

A-Case Hybrid Messenger – carry-on sized

Shaped like a messenger bag and sized to work as airline carry-on luggage. The widest trays of any single case in the range (37 cm), which means long ranks and wide bases sit comfortably side by side.

A-Case Carrier – the personal-item backpack

Designed specifically around the “personal item” allowance most airlines apply to the bag that goes under the seat in front of you. Padded backpack, three accessory pockets, and 35.3 cm of usable internal height in a narrow footprint – tall models, small floor space.

A-Case Hybrid The Kane – the big one

The largest case A-Case makes: 56 cm tall with 54.5 cm of usable internal height, carried as a backpack. Built for full armies plus everything that goes with them. If you buy a Kane, buy extra trays with it – the height is the whole point, and three shelves will not use it.

DuoPack – Messenger + Carrier

Both airline formats in one purchase: the carry-on sized Hybrid Messenger and the personal-item sized Carrier. The set most people fly with when the whole army has to travel in the cabin.

Extra trays and compatibility

Additional trays are sold separately for every model in the Additional trays category. Trays are model-specific – Kane trays fit only the Kane, Carrier trays fit only the Carrier, and so on. Check the model name before ordering.

Colour options differ per model: Victory 2.0, Hybrid Messenger, Carrier and The Kane each have their own palette, and red is available on selected models only. Every case has a black frame regardless of the bag colour.

Magnetising your miniatures

The steel shelves do half the work; the other half is a magnet on the base. The 5 × 2 mm neodymium magnets supplied with each case glue into or onto the underside of a standard base, and from that point the model is ready to travel in any A-Case you own – or any steel surface you park it on. Models that are already based on magnetic or steel bases work straight away, with no preparation at all.

Frequently asked questions

Do A-Case cases use foam?

No. A-Case uses powder-coated steel shelves and neodymium magnets instead. There is no foam to cut, no foam to replace, and no foam pressing against the details of a painted model.

It depends entirely on base size, model height and how you space the shelves – there are no fixed slots. The published tray dimensions and usable internal heights in the table above let you calculate it for your own army before you buy.

You need something ferromagnetic in the base. Each case includes 50 neodymium magnets for that purpose, and you can add up to 250 with your order. Models on steel or magnetic bases need nothing extra.

The Hybrid Messenger is sized as carry-on luggage and the Carrier as a personal item, but every airline sets its own limits – check the external dimensions in the table against your carrier’s current allowance before you fly.

No, cases ship unassembled. Each product page links to a step-by-step assembly video, plus a short guide to fitting the lock-in pins to the trays.

Yes. You can add three extra shelves when ordering, and extra trays for every model are available separately at any time.

No. Each model has its own tray dimensions and trays are not cross-compatible. Order trays that match your case.

Built for the games you actually play

Because A-Case holds models by magnet rather than by a pre-cut hole, one case covers every system you play – Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, Kill Team, Star Wars: Legion, Infinity, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Bolt Action, Malifaux, Battletech, D&D and anything else on a magnetisable base. Change army, change game, change scale: the case does not care.
